Carbajal, Andrew

Andrew Carbajal is living proof that resilience isn’t built in comfort—it’s forged in fire. A husband, father of eight, combat veteran, assistant principal, and founder of Ember-Rise Leadership Collective, Andrew has spent his life turning adversity into purpose. From the battlefield to the classroom, from late nights finishing degrees to early mornings raising a growing family, he’s never let struggle stop him. Instead, he’s used it to fuel his mission: helping others rise stronger than they ever thought possible.

Andrew didn’t grow up with a silver spoon. He grew up learning how to survive—how to navigate systems that weren’t built for him, how to protect the ones he loved, and how to rebuild when life knocked him flat. But he also learned how to lead—with heart, humility, and an unwavering belief that every student, teacher, and parent has a light worth igniting.

Inspired by his own children and the students he serves, Andrew created two transformational resources designed to help youth and the adults who guide them push through obstacles, reflect with intention, and rise with purpose.

Ignite Your Grit: Leading with Strength, Grace, and Resilience – Book Coming Soon!

Ignite Your Grit: Leading with Strength, Grace, and Resilience was born from heartbreak and hope—to give people the tools to rise before they fall. Too many wait for crisis to find strength. It’s time to build it first. I’ve watched too many students, veterans, parents, and friends crumble under the weight of a world that teaches us to react instead of prepare. Ignite Your Grit is your call to rise stronger—before life tests you, before you break.

This is not just a book; it’s a lifeline. It’s a guide to rediscover your purpose, rebuild your resilience, and reignite the fire within you to keep going—no matter what tries to put it out.

Today, through his writing, coaching, and school-based leadership, Andrew is helping others light their own embers of grit—and create the kind of lives and leadership that outlast the storm. He believes success isn’t about perfection. It’s about the comeback. And when you fuel your fight with faith, heart, and hope—you’re already halfway there.
